Gold Star Announces Private Placement
January 25, 2010 – Vancouver, BC: Gold Star Resources Corp. (the “Company”) (GXX – TSX.V) is pleased to announce that it has arranged, subject to the approval of the TSX Venture Exchange, a private placement of up to 5,000,000 units at $0.07 per unit for total gross proceeds of up to $350,000. Each unit will consist of one common share and one transferable share purchase warrant, each warrant exercisable into an additional common share for a period of two years at a price of $0.15 per share.
The proceeds of the placement will be used for general working capital.
Finder’s fees may be payable in whole or part on the private placement in accordance with the policies of the TSX Venture Exchange.
The Company also advises that the directors have approved a change of company name to Simba Energy Inc. The change of name is subject to the acceptance of the TSX Venture Exchange.

Termination of Planned Merger
Vancouver, B.C., Canada, January 12, 2010 – Gold Star Resources Corp (Gold Star), a Canadian exploration company focused on high-impact onshore opportunities in the petroleum systems of West Africa, announces the termination of its previously announced Letter of Intent with Lion Energy Corp (Lion) of Vancouver, British Columbia and Southern Star Energy Inc (Southern).
The directors of Gold Star have determined that the risk factors associated with the existing exploration commitments of Lion, , are not compatible with the strategic objectives and envisioned business model for the combined entities. Consequently, Gold Star has determined that it is in the best interests of the company’s shareholders not to extend the termination date of the Letter of Intent dated November 6, 2009 between Lion, Gold Star and Southern . The existing Letter of Intent expired by its own terms on December 31, 2009.
Gold Star will continue to explore domestic acquisition opportunities and African oil and gas concessions in keeping with its vision and plan for both North America and development in Africa.

Gold Star Appoints New President and Closes ITS $191,500 Private Placement
Vancouver, B.C., Canada, January 12, 2010 – The Company is pleased to announce that Mr. Robert Dinning has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Dinning is a Chartered Accountant and lifetime member of the Alberta Institute of Chartered Accountants. For the past 34 years, Mr. Dinning has acted as a management and business consultant for companies in the resource and high tech industries and has served these companies as an officer and or director. Mr. Dinning also serves as a director of other public companies including director and Chairman of the Board of Paramount Gold & Silver Corp,( PZG: Amex – PZG:TO) President and CEO of Industrial Minerals Inc,(IDSM:OTC BB), Director and CFO of Apolo Gold & Energy Inc (APLL:OTC BB).
Mr. Dinning was appointed a director in August 2009 and replaces Mr. Patrick Morris as President of the Company. The Company would like to thank Mr. Morris for his contributions to the Company.
The Company also announces that it has closed its private placement previously announced on September 23, 2009. The Company issued 1,915,000 units at $0.10 per unit for total gross proceeds of $191,500. Each unit consists of one common share and one transferable share purchase warrant, each warrant exercisable into an additional common share until December 31, 2011, a price of $0.20 per share. All securities issued under the placement are subject to hold periods expiring on May 1, 2010.
The Company paid $13,000 in finder’s fees in respect of the placement.
Proceeds of the placement will be used for general working capital.

(“Southern”)(OTC BB:SSEY), a U.S.- based oil and gas exploration company with lease acreage properties in Louisiana, and Gold Star Resources Corp. (“Gold Star”)(TSX-V: GXX), a Canadian resource exploration company focused on the strategic acquisition and advancement of prospective oil and gas projects in West Africa, are pleased to announce that they have signed a non-binding letter of intent to complete a proposed business combination (the “Transaction”). The Transaction is subject to the completion of confirmatory financial and legal due diligence, definitive documentation, regulatory approvals, court approval and approval of the shareholders of each of Lion, Gold Star and Southern.
